Intermediate Hydrogeologist / Groundwater Modeller

Job Description

You will assist senior staff with groundwater modelling projects. This will include all aspects of a modelling project, such as:

• Data acquisition, compilation and analyses
• Development of a conceptual and geologic models
• Set up of groundwater models
• Sensitivity analyses
• Generating report figures.

Qualifications/Requirements

• 3-5 years of applied experience in hydrogeological consulting
• Experience with MODFLOW
• Database skills (i.e., MS-ACCESS)
• Eligible for certification with PEO or APGO
• A degree in Hydrogeology or related field, with an emphasis on modelling
• Computer programming skills (Visual BASIC)
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment

Junior/Intermediate Data Manager 

Job Description

You will assist senior staff with all aspects pertaining to the development and management of large groundwater databases.  Specifically, these tasks may include:

• Import data from spreadsheets, ASCII files and paper copies into a database
• Scan/digitize reports and enter metadata
• Assist with the synchronization of multiple databases
• Meet with clients to retrieve databases, present new database tools and discuss their data needs
• Develop database tools/scripts to aid in all aspects of data management
• Assist with training courses

Qualifications/Requirements

• Relational database concepts and extensive knowledge of MS-ACCESS
• Programming skills would be a valuable asset
• Experience with hydrogeological data is preferred
• Must be detail-conscious while maintaining a high degree of accuracy
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
